The Learning Taxonomy

Scientist IconEach of the performance indicators has been written according to a taxonomy that conveys the developmental nature of the learning process.

  1. First, learners acquire knowledge.
  2. In the second stage, learners apply their newly acquired knowledge.
  3. Next, learners personalise or explore the effects of the knowledge they have acquired and applied.
  4. Finally, learners act by using their new understanding or skill fully. 

The performance indicators, therefore, are grouped under the following headings that represent stages of learning.
